GIVING BACK
Current Project: Halle Thompson
We have teamed up for Halle Thompson. Every purchase from our Chicken Menu at Tapps for the month of April contributes $1 to Halle Thompson, 8 years old, who was born with a rare bowel disorder resulting in intestinal failure. She is dependent on IV Nutrition (TPN) for 12 hours every night to survive. Halle has taken 36 trips to the operating room for 21 abdominal surgeries and multiple other procedures.
She frequently travels to Calgary to manage her bowel disease, as well as trips to Saskatoon and Toronto. This past year, Halle has struggled with moderate to severe abdominal pain which has required frequent hospital admissions and ongoing treatment. Halle will eventually require a multi-organ transplant (stomach, small intestine, large intestine and liver). Until then, she continues treatment to manage her symptoms and improve her comfort and quality of life.
Halle is enjoying Grade 3 at Yorkdale Central. She loves gymnastics, all things arts and crafts, and spending time with friends and family.
